  • Made with reused wood from "The Theatre" an earlier theater owned by the father of Richard Burbage
  • Was a large open-aired theater with round roof around circumference of the Globe Theater
  • Burnt down on June 29, 1613 when a special effect on stage went wrong during a performance of Henry VIII
  • Rebuilt in 1613
  • Flags displayed type of plays being performed (red - history, white - comedy, black - tragedy) outside the theater


Summary The Globe Theater was very important to the Renaissance society. One reason it was very important is because it showed William Shakespeare's plays, and was where the majority of his plays were performed. In conclusion, it was a place where many historical events happened.
